Release At Imagine RIT!
Posted on May 02, 2008

The timing couldn't be better. This year's magazine is printed, assembled, and ready for release, just as Signatures is preparing to appear at the first ever Imagine RIT festival on May 3rd! We'll have two set-ups: A table inside the faculty commons in building 6, and one at the tiger statue beside the SAU. We'll be in the commons 10am-4pm, and the statue 1pm-4pm.

Also at the statue will be a poetry reading event, led by advisor John Roche. Some of our staff and contributors will be reading, so stop by and hear some of RIT's literary talent in action!

Croatia Web Exhibit

Signatures is always trying to expand its horizons, and in that spirit we've spent much of the academic year on a little project with the ACMT school in Croatia. Valentina Pavleska, one of our staff members, collected and organized works from our sister school, with the help of ACMT Professor Rebecca Charry, and now we're ready to display them to the world!

As well as photos, the exhibit contains a powerful account of life under siege in Sarajevo by Hana Djepo, the memoir “A Nanny in America” by Ivana Rusic, and a Balkan poem sequence by Valentina. You can see all the works by clicking the "online" tab above.

This isn't the last of our web features, either. We plan on putting together an honorable mention segment for this year's magazine after its release, featuring the best works we just couldn't fit into the print edition.

Incoming Deadline!

If you're thinking of submitting, now would be a really good time. And I mean, right now. Because this year's submissions are closing on Friday, February 1. That doesn't leave much time, but don't rush! We want the best of what RIT students have to offer. So relax, take a cup of coffee, and find that perfect image or poem to submit! Remember, you can submit up to three different works for consideration, in any mix of poetry, prose, photography, and illustration.
